What is Epoxy?
Epoxy is a two part system by which a liquid resin and hardener are mixed together and applied as a dense fluid. The covalent bond between the epoxide groups of the epoxy resin (Part A) and the amine groups of the hardener (Part B) create the cross-linkage of the polymer. Once fully cured, the result is a shiny, strong and very durable material. ‘Curing’ is a chemical process in which the material hardens (6-8 hours) after exposure to air, heat, or chemical additives.
What is Epoxy Flooring?
The most straightforward definition suggests a flooring surface comprised of multiple layers of epoxy that is applied with a minimum depth of two millimeters. Confusion typically arises when comparing an Epoxy Floor and an Epoxy Floor Coating. The difference is determined by the depth of the floor. Epoxy floors are classified as an epoxy coating that is at least two millimeters thick. A floor less than two millimeters thick is commonly referred to as an epoxy floor coating.
Why choose Epoxy Flooring?
When it comes to choosing a new flooring system for Government, Industrial, Commercial, Residential, Garage, or any other outdoor surface, epoxy coatings truly stands out from other options. Epoxy Flooring is highly durable, sustainable, and amazingly decorative for any surface. What appeals most to our customers about epoxy flooring is it’s resistance to high levels of wear and tear, making it the longest-lasting flooring options around!
